The UK music scene is incredible. So diverse, such a history and such a presence. From Bristol to Birmingham, Brighton to London. The scene is massive, well proper and ’the tits’.
You can play a gig in a toilet. In Tunbridge Wells (South of London) you can play in a venue that used to be a public toilet. Though it’s a great venue and in no way shit. Thanks to local act Bombay Monkey and ‘90s legends Transglobal Underground for giving us the opportunity to perform.
Bad coffee. With some exceptions, the coffee in the UK is bad, with the food choices veering wildly from amazing to worse-than-dreadful. Good job the beer is good – although possibly warm – plus you can get a gin in seventy different varieties.
Long travel time. It usually takes twice as long to get from A to B than the original SatNav estimate. Be prepared for initial horror, closely followed by complete conviction that the SatNav must be broken, ending in resigned dismay and multiple bad servo coffees, as you marvel at how such a vast portion of the world’s cars seem to all be on the M25 circular.
Neighbours is still a thing. It will be viewed as a national travesty that you have never visited the Neighbours TV set. It’s probably better to pretend that you go there several times a year and practically live next door.
