First List of Speakers For Face The Music 2014 Revealed

Albini’s punk rock attitude to recording has seen him engineer 1,500 albums – including Nirvana, the Pixies, PJ Harvey and The Stooges – and his current band Shellac releases its sixth album Dude Incredible next month.

Also announced to speak at Face The Music were Dave Batty (Custom Made/Artist Voice), Johann Ponniah (I OH YOU), Cara Williams (Beat), Briese Abbott (Spark & Opus), Ben Thompson (Corner Presents), James Young (Cherry Bar, Yah Yah’s), Antonia Sellbach (Love of Diagrams, Beaches), Harley Evans (Moshtix), Millie Millgate & Glenn Dickie (Sounds Australia), Chris Hatzis (3RRR), Chris Johnson (AMRAP/CBAA), Emma Telfer (The Office Of Good Design), Sophia Brous (artist/curator), Caleb Williams (Unified), Kirsty Rivers (APRA AMCOS), Yvette Myhill (AAM) and Patrick Donovan (Music Victoria) with 100 more speakers to be announced.

Face The Music is held Friday November 14 and Saturday November 15 at Arts Centre Melbourne, and again partners with Melbourne Music Week.

In a special session to mark their induction into the Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame, the four original members of one of Daddy Cool, come together at Face The Music to discuss their career and music. A photography exhibition, presented by Arts Centre Melbourne, also celebrates the achievements of Daddy Cool and journalist/author Ed Nimmervoll who is also being inducted into The Age Music Victoria Hall of Fame.
