Festival of Voices kicks off in late June with choral workshops and regional touring programs before the main program explodes into life on 3 July. Free events are scattered throughout, including the beloved Big Sing on 3 July; a massive all-welcome community singalong that’s been a Tasmanian winter institution since 2005.

Lunchtime @ St David’s runs across multiple weekday afternoons, and the pop-up program brings impromptu choral performances to streets, markets, cafés and public spaces across the state.

For those after ticketed performances, the lineup includes beatboxing legend Tom Thum, Casey Donovan, Yirrmal, Lior with String Quartet, Emma Pask, and the AVÉ Australian Vocal Ensemble, alongside plenty of Tasmanian and emerging talent.

Choral highlights include Handel’s Dixit Dominus, the A Cappella Spectacular, Atrium Echoes, and the closing Festival Finale on 12 July.

The Singers’ Lounge at Salamanca Arts Centre runs nightly from 3–11 July, offering late-night performances and open-mic magic, joined in 2026 by the new Choir Lounge upstairs.

Workshops cover everything from beatboxing and looping to songwriting, sea shanties and gospel, with options for all ages and experience levels. Registrations are open for touring, Tasmanian and youth choirs, making it easy to get involved on or off the stage.
