Experimenta Celebrates With Biennial Exhibition Speak To Me

The exhibition includes various artists that specialise in an array of technological mediums including robotics, animation and digital video. Unlike most other art exhibitions, Experimenta: Speak To Me is a lot more interactive than most — what exhibition can say that they have an android that wants to play ‘what’s the time Mr. Woof?’ and a artwork that has to be created by the audience. Not many.

Creative genius Wade Marynowsky is the mind behind The Acconci Robot, an andriod with an inclination to ‘what’s the time Mr. Wolf?’; youngest Experimenta addition, Katie Turnball, creates a pre-cinema toy that requires the audience to move a video camera across spinning discs to produce her work Modern Vanitas.

Belgian artist John Grimonprez also makes an appearance with his work I may have forever lost my umbrella a collation of footage filmed on his iPhone that comments on social and historical events.
