So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band? The band name is my name, Elli Schoen. Pretty inventive hey? I write the music, sing, play electric guitar and give the rest of the band grief.
What do you reckon people will say you sound like? I have been told I sound like Mazzy Star, Jeff Buckley, and sometimes Florence and the Machine.
What do you love about making music? I love that feeling when I play a song to someone for the first time and can see the emotions itevokes.
What do you hate about the music industry? I hate that some of the most talented people will never be heard because they weren’t in the rightplace at the right time.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why? I would of loved to have met Amy Winehouse, she had so much talent for writing exactly how shefelt.
If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why? I don’t want anyone to be assassinated. There’s plenty of room in the industry for a variety of artists and genres even if some of them do make you want to vomit.
What can a punter expect from your live show? Powerful vocals punctuated with ridiculous banter.
