DZ Deathrays : Northern Lights

I always said that DZ Deathrays’ last album could be improved ten-fold if it was a purely instrumental affair, but I guess the throat-shredding, bong-ripping, party-trashing business just wasn’t to my taste. New cut Northern Lights is a world away from the duo’s previous hedonistic rampage, with a restrained, contemplative air replete with a few instances of down-tempo Japandroids-style “woaaah-oh” bombast. It’s a more than promising salvo of things to come.
