A lovely, tripping single from I Will Love You At All, weaving Hanlon’s effortless lyrical flow with carefully placed puffs of brass, spatters of xylophone and a quiet, sawing violin. It feels very simple and natural, with everything in balance, as though Hanlon was at the helm of a tiny little sail boat and his band was a pod of dolphins, popping over the bow every now and then for encouragement. (I don’t feel great about this metaphor, but it is now firmly wedged in my brain file next to Darren Hanlon’s name.)
