Stay Gold? More like Slay Gold.

Sydney Road’s favourite late-night haunt has organised a top-tier program of events this month. Whether you’re into emo bangers, vibey indie rock, bass-driven electronic or full-throttle hardcore, there’s something on the menu this month that’s sure to tickle your fancy.

Plus, they’re hosting the official Metallica pre-party, as well as an ongoing battle of the bands series where local legends duke it out for a spot to play at the covered Good Things festival this December. With heats happening every Wednesday, competition is expected to be fierce.

am//pm Emo Night Halloween // Melbourne

Kick off the month with full emo-mood vibes, live sets and DJs by Diamond Construct, Dregg and Benchcupthrowing, who will be providing all your pop-punk and emo anthems. Costumes are encouraged and Fireball will be on special. This one’s for the scene kids and night owls.

It’s an after-hours gothic club takeover in Brunswick, with dark beats, black dresses and enough atmosphere to make even the sun jealous. This Cup Eve party will feature music by The Cold Field, USER, EDEN, Palliative, Double Happiness and Blood in the Champagne.

Good Things Band Competition 

Local bands battle it out to play the one and only Good Things Festival in this fierce competition. Each week there’s a new heat, until the grand final at the end of the month, where a winner will be crowned. It’ll be a great opportunity to catch fresh talent and say “I saw them before they blew up.”

Get ready for a night where Melbourne’s indie rock scene takes centre stage. Headliners And Then They Run bring emotive songwriting and a powerful live presence, supported by the high-energy grooves of Wavedrive and the inventive flair of The Thongs.

Damage Inc – Official Night Before Pre Party

In anticipation of the Metallica World Tour, this party will feature warm-up drinks, loud tunes by an iconic tribute band and good company. Get the mood set right and prepare your neck muscles for plenty of head-banging.

Seek And Destroy – Post-Show Metal Club Night

Stay Gold then transforms into metal heaven with DJ Debz spinning the heaviest hits all night long. Expect classic bangers from Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Pantera alongside modern metal giants like Lamb of God, Parkway Drive and Gojira. Cheap drinks keep flowing with $8 Fireballs and tins while the riffs get louder.

Bone Soup Afterparty with Velociraptor

Stay Gold hosts the official Bone Soup afterparty following Velociraptor’s set with indie chaos and sweaty singalongs.

DJs will spin the best from Bone Soup’s roster including DZ Deathrays, Violent Soho, The Bennies, Bad//Dreems, Press Club and Skegss. The night runs on $8 Fireballs and tins while fuzzed-out garage anthems keep the energy high. Free entry for Velociraptor ticket holders means the party doesn’t stop when the band does.

Legendary Melbourne DJ Andrew McClelland brings back his annual 90s celebration for another year at Stay Gold.

Expect wall-to-wall bangers from the decade that defined a generation, spanning britpop, grunge, nu-metal, ska and mountains of pop music. If it came out between 1990 and 1999, it’s getting played. This celebration has been running longer than the 90s themselves and shows no signs of slowing down.
