She’s signed with Remote Control Records for Australia through her own Milk! Records. A CD format (and then a vinyl version) of last year’s The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas arrives in March. This will be followed later in the year by her debut album, which she starts recording in April.

Remote Control’s local roster includes King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, Teeth & Tongue, Sunbeam Sound Machine, Dirty Three, Mick Turner, Midnight Juggernauts and Miami Horror.

In the meantime, she’s also signed a licensing agreement with Mom + Pop Records for the American market.  The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas is set for release there on April 15. Mom + Pop is home to Sleigh Bells, Andrew Bird, Polica, Wavves, Metric and Mikhael Paskalev, Neon Indian.

The performer has aroused much attention since her showcase last October at CMJ in New York where she was hailed as one of its new acts to watch. Among those who caught her show was Mom + Pop’s founder and CEO Michael “Goldie” Goldstone and chased her – as did some major labels and larger independents, according to Billboard magazine. Goldstone flew to London to meet up with her. He’s a firm believer in the quality of Australian music:  Mom + Pop Records has also got Flume, Jagwar Ma, The Jezabels and An Horse on its roster.

Barnett is signed internationally to the London-based indie Marathon Artists via a joint venture between its imprint House Anxiety and her Milk! Records.

She’s booking in the US by Marshall Betts at The Windish Agency. From next week, she begins a seven date club run which takes in Chicago, Washington, Philadelphia, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. She’s also booked for Coachella.
