All profits from the gig will be donated to bushfire services.

In response to the devastating fires continuing to ravage the country, Courtney Barnett, Camp Cope and Alice Skye have teamed up for a special fundraiser gig, with 100 per cent of the show’s profits to be donated to the Bushfire Disaster Appeal, Rural Fire Service in NSW, Country Fire Authority in Victoria and WIRES (Wildlife Rescue).

“Watching the news every day, and watching our government completely turn a blind eye, and show absolutely no empathy toward the trauma being faced by a huge portion of the country is completely devastating to us. It really makes you feel helpless, like every little trivial thing in your life is meaningless in comparison,” said Camp Cope’s Sarah Thompson of the show.

“We can’t be out there fighting fires, but it’s so easy for us to play a show to try and support those who are. It truly feels like the very, very least we can do to help in a small way.”

As well as raising money for an urgent cause, the gig will also serve as Barnett’s only full-band show for 2020 and will likely be Camp Cope’s only onstage appearance for the first half of the year.

The Bushfire Fundraiser is going down at Corner Hotel on Tuesday January 7. Grab your tickets here
