Alt-country triple bill to take over Brunswick Ballroom.
NSW-based roots outfit Good Corn Liquor are heading to Melbourne this February, headlining a showcase of emerging alt-country talent at Brunswick Ballroom alongside local acts The Smith and Western Jury and Wild Dog Mountains.
The touring band brings more than 600 live performances worth of experience to the stage, having played together since their teenage years. Following the tragic loss of lead singer Stu McKenzie in a 2015 car accident that also left other members injured, Good Corn Liquor has demonstrated remarkable resilience in their return to performing.

Their latest EP, mixed by industry veteran Steve Newton, known for his work with John Williamson, Troy Cassar-Daley, and Alan Caswell, was recorded in Newcastle. The release’s lead single The Junction marks a significant milestone in the band’s comeback journey.
This triple bill represents a significant gathering of emerging talent in Australia’s alt-country scene, bringing together established touring acts with local performers for an afternoon of roots music spanning country, blues, and bluegrass traditions.
Supporting acts include Melbourne’s own The Smith and Western Jury, who are riding high on the success of their debut album Hotel Texas, released in June 2024. The local group has carved out their own niche in the alt-country scene by incorporating punk rock elements into their sound.
Rounding out the bill are Wild Dog Mountains, a Melbourne group that emerged from a Thornbury backyard shed. The band has gained attention for their distinctive fusion of alt-country with Australian storytelling traditions.
The afternoon showcase offers both general admission tickets at $23.05 and premium reserved seating with meal packages at $63.85. Premium dining packages must be booked by 11am on the day of the show, while general admission tickets remain available until doors open at 1pm.
The event is restricted to audiences 18 years and over, with standard booking fees applying to all ticket types. Premium ticket holders have the option to book social tables, allowing for a more communal dining experience before the music begins at 2pm. Book here.
