Russia’s most notorious electronic duo are bringing their radical politics down under

Words by Staff Writer

Experimental electronic duo IC3PEAK have announced their first Australian headline tour, hitting four cities this October with their politically charged gothic sound.

The announcement follows the January release of their eighth studio album Coming Home, marking a significant shift for the Moscow-formed project. Vocalist Anastasia Kreslina and producer Nikolay Kostilev have spent the past decade crafting a unique sonic palette that draws from dance, pop, rap, folk and rock, all while maintaining their distinctively dark aesthetic.

The duo’s fearless approach to critiquing authoritarianism and modern society has led to attempts by Russian security forces to suppress their live performances. Yet this opposition has only amplified their message, with their multimedia work now reaching over 658 million YouTube views and 1.3 million monthly Spotify listeners.

IC3PEAK tour dates:

  • 17 October 2025 – Magnet House, Perth
  • 19 October 2025 – 170 Russell, Melbourne
  • 22 October 2025 – Liberty Hall, Sydney
  • 24 October 2025 – The Triffid, Brisbane

Coming Home represents a turning point for IC3PEAK, who recently relocated to Kreslina’s birthplace of Riga, Latvia, driven by safety concerns in Russia and the ongoing war in Ukraine. The 12-track album turns inward, exploring themes of displacement, identity and belonging.

“With their politically brazen lyrics about police repression and state hypocrisy, as well as a fierce, highly stylised goth maximalism, IC3PEAK is one of the most exciting bands to come out of Russia in a while,” wrote Pitchfork of the duo’s impact.

The New York Times called them “one of the most notorious musical acts in Russia.”

This tour, presented by Destroy All Lines, marks IC3PEAK’s return to Australia following their 2019 appearance at Dark Mofo. Their latest work may speak softer than their aggressive past releases, but remains no less radical in its artistic vision.
