Towards the end of the set Gabel’s mic stopped working so he dived into the crowd to finish the set, sparking a moshpit frenzy, which unsurprisingly led to some anxious security who commenced their signature move (must be a world-wide thing) of nervously manhandling fans. When security refuse to stop pummeling fans, Gabel apparently threw gear from the stage, prompting house lights to arise and chaos to break loose between band and venue management.

My faith in Against Me is being further restored with every angsty news item like this. I think the more prepackaged and polite some bands become, the more I gravitate towards rebellious types like some kind of high school floozy. At this rate I’ll be a menopausal anarchist.

Ladies and gentlemen, get excited. Everyone’s new favourite band Balance And Composure will tour Australia for the first time this August. The Pennsylvanian five-piece will bring Brizzy hardcore band Fires Of Waco with them when they play at Next in Melbourne on Thursday August 25. There’ll also be a free acoustic set at Poison City during the day. Get stoked. Tickets go on sale Friday June 24.

The Living End have announced they’ll return to the touring circuit later this year for the first time in two years. They’ll play with Hunting Grounds and King Cannons at Melbourne’s Palace Theatre on Thursday September 8. The band’s new album The Ending Is Just The Beginning Repeating is out on July 22.

Turbonegro have announced that they’ll return with a new vocalist in tow this year. Previous frontman Hank Von Helvete left the band two years ago “to persue a career in acting, the Church of Scientology and goth rock”. New singer Tony Sylvester was previously Turbonegro’s UK press official and president of their fan club. Awesome! The band are currently working on a new album.

Popular government-run underage initiatives Freeza and The Push have joined forces to present the All Ages Tour 2011. It was announced last week that the tour will hit Drysdale, Croydon, Sunbury, Bendigo and Wydham. Headliners Closure In Moscow, Dream On Dreamer, Awaken I Am as well as one local band for every show. The tour kicks off at The Potato Shed in Drysdale on Friday July 8.

Bouncing Souls frontman Greg Attonito has revealed that he’ll release a solo EP next month. Titled Natural Disaster, it’ll be available internationally on Chunksahh Records on July 12.

Following their withdrawal from the Parkway Drive Mix N Mash tour, You Me At Six have stayed true to their word and announced a return to Australia this August. They’ve scheduled two shows with We The Kings at Melbourne’s The Hi Fi. There’s an overage show on August 30 and an underage afternoon show on August 31. Tickets go on sale Friday June 24.
