Committed to the idea of a “cafe by trade and community hub by spirit” to house not only Luke’s sustainable fashion start-up, Into Carry, but also nurture Melbourne’s age-old love for good coffee – and a new-found love for reducing waste.

Into Coffee is the brainchild of Rob Rankin and Luke Phillips, two sustainably-minded entrepreneurs who are passionate about the environment and the community. Opening its doors at the end of last year, the café is more than just a place to have great coffee and local bites, but a place where like-minded businesses and people can explore positive change.

The café is also home to Luke’s fashion brand, Into Carry. At first glance, the brand looks like a local upcycling start-up. Although the closer you get, the more layers of sustainable thinking you uncover. Their bespoke one-off creations are couture, but not as you know it. They source materials from local waste streams, from their ‘ethical snakeskin’ made from netting bags that hold lemons, oranges and avocados, to old couch leather repurposed, to the milk-carton packaging from famous brands like Happy Soy Boy.
