A doggy runway, a glam hair salon and world's worst karaoke... You won't want to miss this one.

Get ready to boogie down because Lower Johnston Street is about to transform into a disco wonderland with the highly anticipated third annual LOJO Festival, kicking off on Sunday, March 24th and lasting well into the night.

This year,  businesses in Abbotsford and Collingwood are teaming up to bring you a sensational celebration of food, culture, and music that will keep you dancing from dawn till dusk.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

With more than 40 businesses participating in and around Lower Johnston Street, you can expect a dazzling array of disco-themed decorations and infectious beats that will transport you back to the groovy era of the 70s.

Thanks to the generous support of the City of Yarra, this year’s festival promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with an expanding lineup of participating venues eager to light up the night.

Dress to impress because Lower Johnston Street will be the catwalk of disco fashion. Whether you’re strutting your stuff in the Best Dressed competition at Bodriggy or getting your locks glammed up with disco-inspired hairstyles at Berry Hair Studio, there’s no shortage of opportunities to showcase your style.

And for those looking to make a bold statement, Bell Tatts will be offering flash tattoos at Dr Morse to commemorate your disco fever, as well as tooth gems by Terror Tooth and a street BBQ.

As the sun sets, Collingwood comes alive with Gilbee’s hosting live music from disco groups alongside delectable disco-themed food and drink specials. Need a little liquid courage to unleash your inner diva? Thin Slizzy’s World’s Worst Karaoke offers drink specials that’ll have you belting out tunes like Diana Ross in no time.

But the festivities aren’t just for humans – bring your furry friends along for the ride! House of Plants is hosting an Italo disco party complete with a doggy runway because, after all, why should humans have all the fun? Plus, many venues along Johnston Street will have special accommodations for your four-legged pals, including seating and plenty of pats to go around.

Throughout the day, DJs and live bands will be igniting the stage at various venues. Whether you’re grooving to Benny James and The Allstar Retreat House Rocking Band at The Retreat or enjoying rotating disco-themed DJs at Nighthawks while sipping on retro concoctions, there’s something for everyone.

Get ready to disco down in Lower Johnston Street – it’s going to be a funkadelic!
