CherryRock hasn’t surfaced since 2019, since the venue relocated from its iconic past location in AC/DC Lane to its current digs on Little Collins Street.

Starting in 2007, CherryRock has become an institution in itself. Always a much-anticipated event on the social calendar, it stands as Australia’s only dedicated rock‘n’roll street festival.

Past CherryRocks have seen the likes of Amyl & The Sniffers, Died Pretty, Richie Ramone, Meat Puppets and Rocket Science perform. Others who have taken to the stage include Dan Sultan, Rose Tattoo, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and more.

“It’s always good to start your Sunday with some positive news,” Cherry Bar owner and event curator James Young said on Facebook. “After a lockdown in 2020 and impossible COVID restrictions in 2021… Cherry Bar is very pleased to confirm that in May 2022 we will be hosting the return of Australia’s only dedicated street rock’n’roll festival.”
