Everything needs to stop immediately because our lord and saviour (amen) is extending her welcome; Cher has added second shows in both Sydney and Melbourne due to “overwhelming demand” – mildly unsurprising.
This queen of believing needs no introduction, but I have to give you one anyway: Cher is one of music’s most phenomenal and enduring spectacle showmen, and her career has spanned over six decades. You might have heard something about her performing at Sydney Pride this year? Yeah, her 20-minute set was the most lavish and flamboyant feature of 2018’s pride. She out-dressed EVERYONE at PRIDE. SHE’S 71 YEARS OLD. Confirmed: she’s still got it, babe.
Since her last visit pre-Pride – over 13 years ago – not a lot has changed. She’s already filled up arena after arena, much like her 2005 Farewell Tour, which remains one of the most successful concert tours in history. Again, unsurprising. On her return to the land Down Under, Cher has said that her “visit to Sydney’s Mardi Gras reminded me how unique and beautiful Australia is… so I thought, ‘let’s do it one more time’.”
For her September and October Here We Go Again Tour, Cher plans to gift us mere mortals with performances longer than 90 minutes. She’ll regale us with hits such as ‘Believe’, ‘If I Could Turn Back Time’, and ‘Strong Enough’ – all certified bangers – while also making time to throw it all the way back to ‘I Got You Babe’.
Cher was already booked in for a show on Wednesday 3 October, but has now announced that she’ll be doing it all again on Friday 5 October as well. Just in case attending a Cher concert wasn’t enoguh, Live Nation VIP Experiences are available for purchase; they give fans a chance to attend the official pre-party, receive butler service directly to their seats, and access to some of the best seats in the venue.
Do you really believe in life after love? Prove it, and get your ticket to one of Cher’s second shows ASAP – I guarantee they will sell out.
