“Starting a couple years back, every time we’d post tour dates we’d see dozens of comments asking when we’re coming to Australia and New Zealand,” the band says. “A couple years ago we toured there for the first time and it immediately became one of our favourite places. Let’s make it an annual thing, shall we? We can’t wait to see you all again in November and December! We’re even hitting the south island this time. See you all soon!”
Known for their flawless banjo rolls, lightning-fast mandolin tremolos and three-part harmonies, The Dead South have built a global community of fans who often attend shows dressed in the band’s signature style. Their repertoire includes traditional themes like murder ballads and ghost stories, all delivered with their characteristic wit.
The tour announcement follows the band’s increasing international success, achieved entirely on their own terms. Their unique approach to bluegrass has attracted audiences across backgrounds, beliefs and ages, creating what they affectionately call their Good Company community.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday 17 February at 10am local time, with artist and Mastercard pre-sales starting Wednesday 12 February at 10am, and Live Nation members pre-sale from Friday 14 February at 10am.
