Calling All Film Makers For The Canberra Short Film Fest

For the last 16 years the Canberra Short Film Festival has been discovering new Australian talent, and the time has come again for entries for this years festival.

For the last 16 years the Canberra Short Film Festival has been finding some of Australia’s best and brightest film makers and showing their work to the world. They were the people that brought the breakout indie film Miracle Fish to the worlds attention, and who knows what’s next.

Running for three nights from Friday 15 September at Dendy Cinemas the CSFF shows off the four new categories that make up this years competition. The organisers of the CSFF have decided to try a new perspective in the creation of four broad categories for films, foregoing the previous system of regions of origin.

The four new categories for the festival are National Schools (for film-makers still in primary or secondary education, sorry TAFE and uni students), Grass Roots (for new film makers with not a whole lot of experience, here’s looking at you students), Emerging (for those with more than four years experience but haven’t made it into the industry full time)and Practising (for the pro’s).

There are cash prizes of up to $1,500 for winning films and entries are already open! Early bird entries close April 20 and regular entries close June 25 so get them in quickly. Enter your film here or head across to the CSFF website for more information.
