Calling all cowboys: Boogie is back with a country weekender

Boogie

From April 7 to 9, Boogie is taking over Our Friend's Farm for a rockabilly event like no other.

In just under ten weeks from now, Boogie will be back, just up the Hume in Tallarook. In its sweet 16th year, you can expect the same ol’ magic, shenanigans, masterpiece moments and colourful vibrations that has made it an essential part of the country’s party and festival scene.

Today, the festival announced a smashing lineup of bands and entertainment. Spend Easter weekend getting jiggy at Our Friend’s Farm on the lands of the Taungurung to the best of blues, Americana, country and roots.

Boogie 2023

  • Victoria’s most easygoing country fest will take place on April 7 to 9

It all starts on the afternoon of Friday April 7. Listen to the sweet, twangy grooves of Private Function, The Counterfeits’ Wild West Show featuring Freya Josephine Hollick, Girl & Girl, Guitar Wolf (JPN) and The Prize on the mainstage. James Ellis & The Jealous Guys will be hanging out in the Clubhouse, and Wax’o Paradiso and David Smiley will take care of the late-night session, curated by 1800-LASAGNE.

On the mainstage on Saturday, catch Surprise Chef, Willie J and The Bad Books, Full Flower Moon Band, Batts, Phil Jamieson, The Slingers, Quivers and Danika Smith. Grateful Dead tribute band Deadnecks will bring back your favourite tracks, while Headspin will harmonica the day away. In the evening, you’ll be left in the capable hands of Sophie McAlister and Colette.

As we resurrect on Sunday for our last day in heaven, campers, fans and lovers will be treated to a whole day of cool shit and good times for Boogie Sunday. Andy Golledge, a star-studded celebration of the Band’s the Last Waltz, The Pink Stones (USA), Watty Thompson and his ensemble, Eils & The Drip, Foggy Notion, Queenie, Collingwood Casanovas and Archer & Martha Spencer will help you to straighten out your cowboy hat.
