Cable Ties, Ara Koufax, SIMONA and bebé are lined up for the next instalment of Nocturnal, Melbourne Museum’s once a month after-dark event.
This month’s instalment of Nocturnal celebrates a theme of interconnectivity and features a killer line up of musical acts.
Revellers can take time off the dance floor to head downstairs and see more than 450 authentic pieces from the Vikings: Beyond the Legend exhibition, which unveils the reality of Vikings and their rich and often misunderstood culture. But if ancient warriors don’t exactly float your boat, you’re welcome to explore the entire museum with galleries open until midnight.
This month’s Nocturnal is also bringing everyone together for a cause. On the night, bright colours and clever slogans will tell stories of equality, peace, the environment, war and sex. See real signs and banners used in the Equal Love and Women’s March and protest paraphernalia from as early as the 1970s. You’re also invited to hear Michelle Stevenson, Senior Curator of Politics and Society talk about protesting culture in Melbourne and how it has changed over time, then make your own badge to campaign for change, and express what matters most to you.
