English punks Buzzcocks’ seminal first albums Another Music In A Different Kitchen and Love Bites turn the big four zero this year, and the band have announced celebratory re-issues of both records for the occasion.
Recorded in London’s Olympic Studios between December 1977 and January ’78, Another Music In A Different Kitchen dropped in March, marking Buzzcock’s debut album release. Wasting no time at all, the band followed up with their second studio album Love Bites in July the same year, the album featuring the band’s popular single ‘Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve). By the end of ’78, following the success of their first two records, Buzzcocks had cemented their status as a pioneering force in the punk scene.
40 years on, the band’s earliest albums have been re-mastered from the original tapes and are set for release early next year. The re-issue will also feature an eight-page booklet containing previously unseen photographs of the band along with liner notes from acclaimed writer and music journalist, Jon Savage. Re-issues of Another Music In A Different Kitchen and Love Bites will each be released on vinyl and CD, with standard and deluxe pressings available for both albums.
