Black Devil Yard Boss : Black Devil Rising

You may be forgiven for thinking that an album such as the one just described might get a little monotonous after a while, but there is also some very nice variation going on here as well. Especially as far as the guitar tones used are concerned, sometimes rough and ready, sometimes fuzzy as fuck, sometimes wah-wah soaked and regularly simply ballsy and in your face. The production walks a very fine line between raw and live, and polished enough to be highly listenable. The musicianship is typically tasteful and flamboyant all at once, and the grooves are about as fat as you can possibly imagine. And the songs themselves? They are dead on the money, catchy, well crafted and just plain big.

There are a lot of bands out there still playing blues based hard rock, but these guys are doing it just a little different. Well worth some of your hard earned.
