Bill Bailey will return to Australia in September and October with a sprawling 17-date national tour.
The new show, Vaudevillean, takes its cue from the original prime-time entertainment format. Before radio, before cinema, before streaming ever existed, vaudeville ruled the stage with a chaotic mix of comedy, music and spectacle. Bailey is channelling that energy into something built for 2026 audiences, blending his trademark musical chops with surreal comedy and variety-style performance.
Bailey is one of the UK’s most recognisable comedians, known for his roles in Black Books, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and QI, as well as the Idris Elba-created series In the Long Run. He won the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing, voiced the animated feature Dragonkeeper and authored Bill Bailey’s Remarkable Guide to Happiness. His previous Australian tour in 2023 sold out across the country.

Vaudevillean promises an evening of inventive comedy, multi-instrumental performance and the kind of joyful unpredictability that made vaudeville a cultural institution in the first place. Bailey has spent decades perfecting his ability to pivot between genres, instruments and punchlines at speed, and this show leans fully into that restless creative energy.
His global touring career has produced acclaimed shows including Part Troll, Tinselworm, Qualmpeddler, Limboland and Thoughtifier, taking him across the US, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Whether he’s dissecting a piece of classical music or performing a perfectly timed bit of physical comedy, Bailey’s ability to hold a room remains formidable.
Tickets go on sale 13 April at noon local time.
