BIIG TIME celebrate debut album 200K with an intimate Melbourne headline show

The family side-project that turned into something much bigger, BIIG TIME are bringing their debut album 200K to Northcote Social Club on 13 December. The band features Johnny Took from DMA’s and his brother Matty Took from PLANET.

BIIG TIME released their debut album 200K on 9 May 2025, following years as one of the Australian music scene’s worst-kept secrets. The brothers have crafted an 11-track collection that marries 1980s US rock and roll with British shoegaze, creating melodies that crawl inside your head and refuse to leave.

The Melbourne show follows a massive UK tour and a run of support shows, including joining Irish rock band Inhaler on their Open Wide Australian tour in June 2025. The band played Forum Melbourne alongside Inhaler and have been building momentum with their swagger-heavy indie rock sound.

Johnny Took has already achieved arena-level success with DMA’s, whose album How Many Dreams? reached the top three on the UK Album Chart. Meanwhile, Matty Took fronts PLANET, whose 2022 debut album has built its own devoted following. BIIG TIME represents both brothers stepping away from their main projects to explore new creative territory together, and the Northcote show promises an intimate setting for fans who’ve been following since their 2020 debut single It’s You.
