BIGSOUND 2017 reveals 40 music heavyweights for second speaker lineup

Two keynote speakers who will making their way to Australia for the first time include co-founder of one of the world’s biggest indie labels PIAS, Kenny Gates, as well as vocalist, poet and multi-instrumentalist for US buzz band Speedy Ortiz, Sadie Dupois.

Also making the way Down Under include Pitchfork writer Jillian Mapes, UK Vevo talent manager Carl Young, US tastemaker label Captured Tracks A&R Mike Sniper, US booking powerhouse Paradigm Talent Agency’s Jackie Nalpant and Marshall Betts, ARIA CEO Dan Rosen as well as C3 Management’s Joe Greenwald.

UK author and ex-manager of Marc Bolan and Wham!, Simon Napier-Bell will also be there alongside Singapore’s Slate Entertainment founder and CEO Keith Tan.

The announcement comes after the first unveiling of speakers, headed up by Tina Arena, Archie Roach, Alison Wenham, Jane Abernathy, Eva Trifonas, Stuart Meyer, Mary Ramos and Nick Findlay.

On top of that, more than 130 musicians will set foot in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley to display their burgeoning talent. Total Giovanni, nyck, Hockey Dad, Clowns and Winston Surfshirt are just some of the artists performing live for Australia’s biggest music event.
