Things are levelling up this November at The Beast. You better be hungry for some bangers, because The Beast is going to serve.

East Brunny’s The Beast is going no less than full Beast mode this upcoming month. Peckish for some homegrown rock? Hungry for some hangover-curing blues? Grab a plate and a place at the Beast’s table. There’s only one spot this side of the city you need to stop by to be satisfied this November.

The Beast’s November calendar has got something for everyone on the menu. Whether it’s a festive celebration or local punk rock, a bit of comeback-blues or a sprinkling of hardcore, you won’t be leaving this burger-come-bandroom joint with an empty stomach.

Día De Los Muertos

  • With Queen of Hearts, Dead Amigos and Son De Mexico
  • Friday November 1, from 9pm

Get down to The Beast for this long weekend celebration of Día De Los Muertos. The Day of the Dead festivities kick off from October 31 and continue right through to Tuesday November 5, so you can capitalise on that long, long weekend. The peak of the party will see a live music extravaganza by Queen of Hearts, Dead Amigos and Son De Mexico.

Mount Kujo

  • Monday November 4, from 9pm

Countries are borderless and sounds are universal when it comes to the world of Mount Kujo. This all-star band celebrate influences all over the cultural and musical spectrum in their eccentric performances. You’ll find a dash of funk, a slice of jazz, a hint of Latin and a pinch of Afrobeat influence in the mix. Don’t miss their show at The Beast this November.

  • With Intrepid and The Knews
  • Thursday November 7, from 9pm

Get down to the belly of The Beast this Thursday in November for a stellar show from up and comers Select All. If you haven’t seen these guys play before, this is your sign to tuck into a burger and a band on November 7. Supported by Intrepid and The Knews, a bit of punk rock is in order for you to get this weekend started.

Müttley

  • Friday November 8, from 9pm

A slice of Southern Tasmania is here to hype up The Beast this month. Müttley, a three-piece Tassie band that has supported the likes of C.O.F.F.I.N., is coming to town to show Naarm what they’re made of.

Powerstryde

  • Saturday November 9, from 9pm

80’s rock is making a comeback if Powerstryde has anything to say about it. The ferocious blast of electric guitars and the odd crowd surf that is Powerstryde is bringing their 80’s rock tributes to the Brunny East stage in what will no doubt be a cascading nostalgia trip of all the hits you love.

Twangover at The Beast

  • With Shaky Stills
  • Sunday November 10, from 3pm

Cure that hangover with a bit of the old hair of the dog down at The Beast this Sunday in November. Shaky Stills will be there to accompany you as they wash away your hundred-pint-hangover with a splash of comforting country songs.

Hawker Heights

  • Friday November 15, from 9pm

Hawker Heights is making a comeback after a quick seven years between drinks. Debuting their new era of music-making at none other than The Beast, you can expect a fresh instalment to the Hawker Heights saga for this show. A smattering of blues in the mix with funk and soul, come and grab a seat and a burger, and sink into the delectable tunes.

Drift: Single Launch

  • With Gush and Everyday Believer
  • Saturday November 16, from 9pm

Sydney-siders Drift are bringing their emo post-hardcore sounds down south with a single launch show this month. Celebrating the release of their latest single Fade Away, Drift will be joined by Gush and Everyday Believer for what is shaping up to be one hell of a show.

Trivia Tuesdays

  • Every Tuesday, from 8pm

Beast Your Sunday Blues

  • With Southern Lightning
  • Sunday November 3 and 17, from 3pm

There’s only one kind of Sunday Blues at The Beast this month, and that’s the kind you can tap your toe along to. Forget your hangover as the sweet sounds of authentic rhythm and blues band Southern Lightning whisk you away. Filling the The Beast’s burger joint with soulful classics both Sunday November 3 and 17, there’s no excuse not to catch this weekend send-off show.
