B-Fest and beyond: Here’s what’s on next week at the Bergy Bandroom

bergy bandroom
words by staff writer

It's a public holiday week and we're using that as an excuse to cram in as many bands and beers at the Bergy as humanely possible.

With a cozy vibe, a laidback beer garden and a fine selection of ice-cold brews, The Bergy Seltzer has always had a special place in our hearts. Recently, with the addition of the state-of-the-art bandroom, they’ve managed to kick it up a notch.

While we always loved packing in to see a show in the intimate front bar, the new Bergy Bandroom has allowed them to host bigger bands, welcome bigger crowds and get a little more loud and rowdy. Since opening, they’ve been hard at work wearing in the stage with gigs on almost every night of the week.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

So with a public holiday quickly approaching and good weather on the forecast, we’re highlighting all the cool stuff going down at the Bergy. From manic metal bands to a charity festival honouring bands that start with the letter B, it’s set to be a massive week.

Below, we’re giving you the rundown of everything happening from November 5 to 11. If you just can’t wait or you’re curious about what else is going on, check out their full list of events in their gig guide.

Blue Vedder Single Launch

  • Monday, November 6
  • With Kitschen Boy and Hot Glue

Blue Vedder is celebrating the recent release of their shoegazey new single Leather. After dropping their debut EP Static last year, the band has quickly gained a solid local following. In 2022, they secured a coveted spot on the Split Milk mainstage by winning Triple J Unearthed. They’ll be joined by the universally adored sweethearts of Kitschen Boy and the rising indie stars Hot Glue who are fresh off the release of their acclaimed debut album.

B-Fest

  • With Back Pocket, Bad Bangs, Bass Drum Something Music, Bayonet, Bellhop, Bench Press, BIFF, Black Bats and Blowers
  • All proceeds are going to Animals Australia

Who cares about those damn races? This Cup Day we’ll see you at B-Fest! BOFF Records have rangled up as many B-themed bands as they could get their hands on and they’ll all be playing sets on November 7. B-Fest proceeds will be donated to Animals Australia, an organisation that fights against animal cruelty. It’ll be beautiful, boisterous, bold, berserk… You get the picture.

Two Melbourne art pop artists are coming together for a huge double bill of eclectic improv jams. Violinist, artist and songwriter Xani will be performing her celebrated latest album, An Inaccurate History of Dance Music. Esoteric house artist You Are The Eagle will be kicking things off.

The Last Martyr Single Launch

The Last Martyr are coming in hot with their brand new single Burn It Down.
