Award-winning Polish pianist and composer Hania Rani will return to Australia in 2025 for a series of performances across five iconic venues.

Announced by Arts Projects Australia, the Hania Rani tour will run from 21 February to 1 March, offering audiences the chance to experience Rani’s captivating and genre-blurring soundscapes at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Fremantle Arts Centre (as part of Perth Festival), Sydney Opera House, and Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre (as part of Adelaide Festival).

Known for her contemporary classical compositions and innovative sound installations, Rani’s music combines classical elegance with modern influences, transforming traditional piano compositions into ethereal performances that incorporate ambient, minimalist, and house music elements. Her 2023 album Ghosts features collaborations with renowned artists such as Patrick Watson, Ólafur Arnalds, and Duncan Bellamy of Portico Quartet, creating a cosmic soundscape that has drawn inspiration from a diverse range of musicians, including Enya, The Smile, James Blake, and Pink Floyd.

Rani’s live performances have earned her global acclaim, from her highly streamed 2022 performance at Les Invalides in Paris, which garnered over six million views, to her 2024 NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Her upcoming Australian tour is set to be a continuation of her spellbinding live shows, promising a rich blend of piano, cascading melodies, and Rani’s delicate vocals, all enhanced by a stunning visual and lighting display.

Reflecting on her return to Australia, Rani said, “I am delighted to be performing in Australia again. It is a thrill to go back to this beautiful continent, and I can’t wait to share the music from my album Ghosts with you at last! Expect a wonderful light and visuals show, and some new tracks.”

Rani first gained widespread recognition with her debut album Esja in 2019, which won four prestigious Fryderyk Awards, including Best Debut Album and Best Alternative Album. Her second album, Home (2020), which introduced vocals and subtle electronic elements, also earned her the title of Best Composer at the Fryderyk Awards and a place in Rough Trade’s Albums of the Year.
