Australia is getting a permanent Yayoi Kusama installation

That pumpkin filled infinity room you’ve seen all over Instagram? Yup, that’s taking up residency in Aus.

Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is renown for her polka-dot pumpkins and mind-boggling infinity rooms, and we’re about to host a combination of both.

Canberra’s National Gallery of Australia is the lucky new home of the artwork, The Spirits of the Pumpkins Descended into the Heavens 2015, which will go on display from December this year.

The piece is basically a mirrored cube inside a black and yellow polka dotted room, which contains some of Kusama’s famous spotted pumpkins, being endlessly reflected off the mirrors inside.

It’s a pretty awe-inspiring sight, and might just be worth making a trip to Canberra for.
