An immersive audio and visual experience is taking over Golden Square carpark this month

'Wisdom and Light' is a multi-sensory experience celebrating the life and career of Venerable Master Hsing Yun.

Experience the extraordinary journey and vision of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, founder of Fo Guang Shan, one of the world’s largest Buddhist organisations, all told through cutting edge projection technology. A fully immersive projection and multi sensory experience, as well as an interactive calligraphy writing activity, this 90 minute experience is set to take over Golden Square carpark for the month of September.

Journey into the art of one-stroke calligraphy in this breathtaking exhibition chronicling Master Hsing Yun’s technique, life and influence. With rare and valuable calligraphy in the adjacent gallery, it’s set to be a captivating celebration of the artist and teacher’s life and works.

With the rooftop adorned by illuminated flowers, head up the stairs to the top of the carpark to witness the Lotus Flower Sanctuary. Indulge in a range of food on offer at Wisdom and Light Cafe, where vegetarian delicacies are being served up by Melbourne Nobu’s former Head Chef.

“I have a basic image in my mind, with so many characters that I must write in one stroke,” says Venerable Master Hsing Yun, “I cannot stop, for if I stop, where could I continue? Thus I thought to myself, this is One Stroke Calligraphy.”

This 90 minute experience is open from 10am until 10pm daily. It’s on for the whole month – with a season lasting from September 1 until October 2.
