All the free live music happening at the Thornbury Local this May

Thornbury Local

Free live music all weekend, every weekend.

The Thornbury Local doesn’t mess around when it comes to entertainment. The High Street bar is a neighbourhood institution. It’s a place where up-and-comers can earn their stripes and where seasoned vets can come to jam out and blow off some steam.

On the stage, see everything from indie pop to good old-fashioned rock n’ roll. Running Friday, Saturday and Sunday every week, their live music series gives fans the chance to see their favourites in the flesh or discover something new and exciting in the local scene.

Can’t get enough live music? You’re lucky you live in Melbourne. For the full rundown on local events, head on over to our gig guide here.

And the best part? Live music at the Thornbury Local is always free, so you can put that extra cash towards your bar tab.

With flowing beers, Americana pub-style bites and an intimate and lively bandroom, it’s the perfect place to post up for the weekend. If you’re more of a weekday warrior, try out the Local’s Tuesday trivia, Wednesday open mic or Thursday all-night happy hour – you’ll be guaranteed for a good time.

In May, the bar is booked for a big month of live music by some of the city’s best talent. We’ve created a wrap-up of everything going down at the Local this May. Have a browse – we’re sure something will pique your interest.
