Over Our Dead Body is proud to present its first event series – DECENT EXPOSURE [Vol. 1] – a residency that will run over three Wednesdays in December at Shotkickers in Naarm/Melbourne with each week featuring a stacked lineup of local up and coming acts curated by established local artists.

Over Our Dead Body – a grass-roots artist-run initiative, created by Alex Lahey and Sophie Payten (Gordi), with a vision to grow local fan bases for emerging artists, with the support and endorsement of more established artists.

Over Our Dead Body aims to host intimate, affordable opportunities for emerging artists to perform, that are curated by established artists.

Lahey and Payten share:  “We keep hearing the same thing – it’s harder than ever to break artists in Australia at the moment. Triple J’s Australian Artist Survey showed that nearly half of all Australian artists have thought about quitting the industry in the last few years, in part because there aren’t enough opportunities to perform. So, we started thinking – what can more established artists do to help lift up emerging artists?”

Kicking off on Wednesday 6 December, week one will be curated by Georgia Maq (Camp Cope) and will be headlined by award-winning pop icon June Jones, with support from Katie Dey and The Vovos. Week two on 13 December, curated by Gordi, will be headlined by Pisco Sour, fresh off their sold-out single launch, with support from Obscura Hail and Leo.

Week three on 20 December, curated by Alex Lahey, will be headlined by the newest force in Australian indie-rock, The Belair Lip Bombs with support from Eaglemont and Harris.
