The Adelaide four-piece has their middle fingers to the sky.

There’s a lot to be angry about in this world. At the risk of bumming you out even further, I won’t list off my many suggestions, but let’s just put it like this: it’s all too easy to succumb to the rage if you let yourself. Why do you think they invented those rooms where you smash stuff?

This is the energy Jon Ann harnesses on their latest single, F With Me. Ferocious and unforgiving, the track has become an anthem for those who are sick and tired of the cards they’ve been dealt, and is by far the band’s most cathartic release yet.

Emerging into a blaze of feedback and power chords, vocalist Christie sings with a fiery passion, her typically sugary voice finding its edge. On its face, the song details a relationship gone wrong. “You probably never think of me / I shouldn’t care / cause you definitely didn’t / give a damn” runs the second verse.

But the angry feeling can be universally applied – when the chorus charges in with “Look what you’ve done to me /  You really fucked with me / You had your fun with me”, it leaves the listener feeling chewed up and spit out in the best way.

Mixed by with ARIA award-winning engineer Anton Hagop (Silverchair) and mastered by George Georgiadis at Little Wing Sound (Ruby Fields, Smith Street Band), the track showcases a raw, aggressive side of Jon Ann, one that we’re looking forward to seeing more of.

With gigs on almost every week, Jon Ann have become a staple in the Adelaide music scene. Their distinct sound finds the perfect balance between heartfelt and hardcore, blending vulnerable lyricism with thrashing drums and distortion.

“The one thing we are always told by fans is that we need to be big in every state, not just our own. F With Me serves as the start of a new chapter for Jon Ann, one we can’t wait to explode with,” says the band.
