The news comes in the wake of massive redevelopment plans for the former prison, which is slated to include a brewery, hotel and restaurants.
Helmed by Benjamin Zeccola of Palace Cinemas, the proposal would see the cinema sit atop two levels of shops.
“I think it’s 100 percent going to go ahead,” said Zeccola to the Sydney Morning Herald. “From our point of view, this is happening.”
