This adaptation tells the story of Bearskinner, a young soldier who lost everything in the war, who makes a deal with the devil that will make him rich if he can give up love, life and personal hygiene for seven years. On top of all this he has to deal with the Devil’s mistresses who attempt to seduce him and break his pact.

Don’t you wish all fairytales sounded like this?

Set in a lounge bar filled with fake Christmas trees, The Bearskinner is a dark comedy that mixes live music, poetry and innuendo as it explores themes like the struggle between good and evil and the power of love.

The Bearskinner was nominated for The Blue Room Theatre Award for Best Production in 2009, and won the Audience Development Award in the same season. The production, directed by Kathryn Osborne, is expected to be a success after its sold-out original season in Perth.
