Eagle and the Worm have slipped out in front of potential detractors, noting that Too Young “tips the hat” to Pet Sounds and Brian Wilson’s iconic psych pop orchestration. By “tips the hat” they mean emulates, without innovation. I’m not that bothered, really, and I don’t suppose anyone else will be, because they do a beautiful job of mimicking the Beach Boys and Too Young is a lovely, lush, deeply nostalgic tune. But let’s not be arseholes about it – this is a really good copy of someone else’s art.
