Adele Barbaro is giving away $700,000 in prizes at the Palais

Words by staff writer

The Great Big Giveaway Show with Adele Barbaro returns to the Palais Theatre on 19 February 2027, with 100% of profits going to Love Your Sister.

Adele Barbaro has an electric car, a sauna and $700,000 worth of other prizes to hand out.

The Great Big Giveaway Show with Adele Barbaro takes over the Palais on 19 February 2027, the third run of a night that began as a thank-you to the Melbourne creator’s audience and has since turned into a decent-sized fundraiser. MG Live presents it. Tickets go on sale 14 October at 11am AEDT through Ticketmaster, and the room is strictly 18+.

Barbaro hosts, and she’s pulled in a guest list that doesn’t follow any obvious logic. American Pie and The Big Lebowski actor Tara Reid sits down for a live chat, as do Sophie Monk, Lorinska Merrington, Olympic pole vault gold medallist Steve Hooker OAM and Love Your Sister founder Samuel Johnson OAM. Pastry chef Anna Polyviou runs a cooking demonstration on stage. Jimeoin does stand-up, Shannon Noll performs, and DJ Yo! Mafia keeps the room moving between games.

The prize list is the real headline act. A brand new JAECOO J5 EV worth $38,000 tops it, trailed by an all-inclusive family holiday valued at $15,000 and a year of QuiteLike dinners worth $10,000. Also going out the door: a NOOK 2 Core sauna, a Thermomix T7, a $4,000 JBL bundle, a Laurastar IZZI steam generator, a $1,000 Ticketmaster voucher and adults-only weekend getaways at QT and Mount Duneed Estate. More gets announced on the night.

Every dollar of profit lands with Love Your Sister, the charity Johnson started in 2012 that has raised more than $23m for medical research. Its current push is precision oncology, which means matching patients to the right treatment the first time regardless of cancer type, location, age or income. Barbaro’s first two shows have put $144,700 towards that. The 2027 goal is to shove the running total past $200,000.

Barbaro walked away from the traditional workforce in 2019, built an audience of several hundred thousand posting about family life as The Real Mumma, then launched drinks company Feminaè Beverage Co in 2020. The giveaway show is the loudest thing she does all year. Someone will drive the EV home in February.
