One of Melbourne’s last 24-hour nightclubs is up for sale

Words by staff writer

My Aeon, the Brunswick venue that's kept the northside dancing for nearly two decades, has hit the market.

The 791 Sydney Road club runs across two levels, each fitted with its own dance floor and Funktion-One rig, plus a rear courtyard for when your ears need a breather. Its rare 24-hour licence lets My Aeon trade long after last drinks have been called everywhere else.

My Aeon

  • Venue: My Aeon, 791 Sydney Road, Brunswick
  • Licence: 24-hour on-premises, capacity 304
  • Lease: 19 years remaining
  • Rent: $1,225 including GST
  • Asking price: $450,000 leasehold, vendor terms available

The current operator only picked the place up recently and is selling to head overseas for work, which is the sole reason it’s on the block. There’s no closure story here, no lease running down, no drama with the landlord.

Right now the room only opens two nights a week, so whoever takes the keys inherits a fully kitted club with a stack of dark nights left to program. The sale also includes the sound, lighting and production gear outright, with no equipment finance or supplier deals to carry across.

Working 24-hour licences aren’t thick on the ground in Melbourne, which makes a turnkey late-night room with two functioning systems a fairly uncommon thing to land on the open market.
