Grab a glass and brace yourself, because Comedy in the Vines is heading back to the Yarra Valley with its biggest, funniest lineup ever assembled.
Presented by Grapes of Mirth, the festival is taking over CherryHill Orchards in the Yarra Valley for four days of stand-up, wine and general chaos.
Comedy in the Vines will run from Thursday 22 October through to Sunday 25 October, bringing together some of the biggest names in Australian and international comedy for a weekend that’s part festival, part fancy wine tour, part fever dream.
This year’s lineup is genuinely massive.

UK headliner George Lewis tops the bill, joined by Lano & Woodley, Mel Buttle, Merrick Watts, Santo Cilauro, Sammy J and Geraldine Hickey.
There’s also UK acts Lloyd Langford and Kate Dolan, plus Lizzy Hoo, Dave Hughes, Claire Hooper, Sri Lankan comic Sashi Perera, Tom Ballard, Dave Thornton, Chopper, Nikki Britton, Ben Knight, Gillian Cosgriff, Frankie McNair, Dan Rath, Alex Ward, Harry Jun, Urvi Majumdar, Tina Del Twist, Ethel Chop, Dr Trevor Jones and DJ Pedro Moshman rounding out an already stacked bill, with more names still to be announced.
It’s not just stand-up on the cards either. More than 15 Yarra Valley winemakers will be on site pouring throughout the weekend, alongside a string of boozy, slightly absurd side events. Think wine aerobics led by Nikki Britton, a 5km wine run for those who like their cardio with a chaser, and a session simply called There’s Nothing Like A Game from Gillian Cosgriff.
For the more refined punters, there’s a chance to learn how to taste wine properly with Master of Wine Meg Brodtmann, plus a comedy DJ battle for anyone who fancies dancing between sets. Basically, if you can dream it, organisers have probably already booked it.
Tickets are on sale now, and the team is currently offering ten dollars off for anyone who joins the waitlist before general release. Given how quickly regional comedy and wine festivals tend to sell out around Victoria, that’s not a bad incentive to lock something in early.
With four days, dozens of comedians and a seriously impressive wine list, Comedy in the Vines is shaping up to be one of the more unhinged additions to Victoria’s spring festival calendar.
