Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl is hosting We Are The Voice, a world record singalong event celebrating the music of John Farnham on 13 March.

We Are The Voice is an Australian Book of Records-certified attempt at the world’s largest singalong to Farnham’s catalogue, with thousands of audience members forming a mass choir on the night.

Choir master Jonathon Welch AM will conduct the crowd through classics including You’re The Voice, while Musical Director Chong Lim performs alongside the reunited Farnham Band — their first time back on stage together since Fire Fight Australia in 2020.

Em Rusciano hosts the evening, with additional performances from ARIA Hall of Fame inductee Jack Jones, country artist Taylor Moss, vocalists Crackup Sister Iffy (Nerida Matthaei) and Rachel Bostock, and hypnotist Mark Anthony — who will also be attempting a separate world record for hypnotising the largest number of people simultaneously on stage.

The event raises funds and awareness for Head and Neck Cancer Australia, a cause connected to Farnham’s own experience with oral cancer, which brought significant national attention to the disease following his diagnosis. The CEO of Head and Neck Cancer Australia, Nadia Rosin, has noted that Farnham’s openness about his diagnosis has helped educate Australians about a cancer that is frequently detected too late.
