This October, Brunswick Ballroom is set to host three standout country music events, showcasing an array of talent from the US and Australia.

From honky-tonk veterans to a boot-scootin’ mini-hoedown, these gigs will bring authentic country sounds and lively atmospheres to Melbourne.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

First up is Jonny Fritz & Joshua Hedley, who will hit the stage on Wednesday, 16 October.

These two country music favourites are returning to Melbourne to bring their unique blend of country and western music. Jonny Fritz, a 15-year veteran of the touring circuit, is known for his Dad Country style and his talent as a leatherworker, making guitar straps for some of the biggest names in the business. His partner in crime, fiddle player Joshua Hedley, is a Nashville regular with two albums under his belt and a reputation for delivering honky-tonk anthems that light up any stage.

Next, Uncle Lucius is set to perform on Tuesday, 15 October, in what will be their first-ever Australian tour.

Known for their hit song Keep The Wolves Away, this Austin-based country rock band has regrouped after a five-year hiatus, bringing their new album Like It’s The Last One Left to Australian audiences. Expect a night of amped-up Americana and roots-rock, with Uncle Lucius delivering both classic tunes and fresh tracks from their latest release.

Finally, Boot Scootin’ with Country Club will round out the week on Thursday, 17 October. This fun-filled mini-hoedown kicks off with a one-hour line dancing class, followed by a chance to show off your moves. The Country Club girls, Abi Varney, Luisa Burgoyne, Alice Glenn, and Kitty Wursthorn, will guide you through the evening as you immerse yourself in a night of dancing, drinks, and cowboy boots. No experience is required, making it the perfect event for first-timers looking for a taste of country fun.
