These Glaswegian kids come at the It-sound of the turning decade – the slow-clapping, glassy electro pop epic – and buttress it with their own shiny plastic diamond. Their sound is indistinguishable from La Roux, Ladyhawke, Grimes and Ellie Goulding, but this particular tune is a very good example of the genre. Singer Lauren Mayberry’s baby sweet voice sails and twitters beautifully through the pre-fab beats and drifting clouds of synth, lightly but beautifully seductive.
