I quite like the melodic disco pulse of I Wish I Never Met You but I don’t know if it’s all that good. I just like Sam Sparro now. I saw the video for Happiness recently and realised I had missed the thing that makes this kid a bona fide pop star: he dances! There’s more to it than that, mind you. His tidy moustache, enormous teeth and tiny wing-like ears make him look like a Bugsy Malone character, albeit taller. He has a strong look, as my friend Andy would say. A strong look, some tidy dance moves and a whole lot of disco rocking charisma.
