So then, what’s the band name and what do you ‘do’ in the band?
The band’s Private Life and I’m the bassist.
What do you reckon people will say you sound like ?
Well hopefully a mash of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Little Dragon and Spoon.
What do you love about making music?
Love the freedom and how in the end it all comes together like a painting or puzzle or spaghetti bolognaise.
What do you hate about the music industry?
I don’t like how the commercial music industry feeds their listeners a large majority of rubbish. Not that I hate commercial music, but these larger stations just don’t respect or challenge their audience.
If you could travel back in time and show one of your musical heroes your stuff, who would it be and why?
Most of my hero’s are still kickin’ it, but maybe a jazz legend who died young, like Charlie Parker. I’d just love to see his reaction, not that he’d particularly like our music. I think the synth heaviness and modern forms would trip him right out.
If you could assassinate one person or band from popular music, who would it and why?
Well Bieber would be an obvious one but music that’s as bad and Ludacris as that actually entertains me. So I’ll say The Script because they’re so inoffensiveness that I wouldn’t know whether they’re here or there. Ouch!!
What can a punter expect from your live show?
Pretty high energy synth rock with some sweat lullabies to balance it out.
What’ve you got to sell CD-wise?
Working on that one.
