Bearing the terrible clichéd nature of this question, what do you reckon people will say you sound like?

A lot of people say we sound like The Roots. I get that, hip hop band, makes sense. Others, say we sound like Rage Against The Machine and we can get fairly heavy, but we’re too nice for that. We get pretty synthy too, so it’s really a mixture of hip hop and maybe this new future soul business?

When are you playing live/releasing your album/EP/single/etc?

So we’re going on our first tour this month around Australia. Well really only four cities, but that warrants a tour right? We’re heading to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide and our hometown Melbourne. I also released a single entitled Overdose to go with the tour, which is pretty cool. Check it out.

What part of making music excites you the most?

The feeling you get when you put pen to pad, and look up and a few hours have past and you’ve got this sweet track. Sometimes when you push for ideas too hard it doesn’t work, but that natural process and hearing the end product is something special.

What part of making music discourages you?

Honestly, sometimes looking around at the community around you can make you ecstatic, or just break your spirit. Sometimes the hip hop community can make me cringe. The issues and complacency that comes with the genre and its commentary on the separation from other hip hop streams like the US or UK scene. Just make music or shut up.

Describe the best gig you have ever played.

Could be when we played at this sweet bar in San Diego, or one of our many shows at The Espy. San Diego was sweet, because no one knew what they were in for, and probably looked at us and clowned us. But we got on stage and were able to get the whole crowd live, great feeling. The Espy is just always loose, great vibe.

If someone made a movie about your life, who would play you?

I would love to say someone like Denzel Washington or Jeremy Piven (Ari Gold from Entourage), but let’s be honest it’d either be Jerry Ferrara (Turtle) from Entourage or Victor Rasuk (Hispanic guy from How To Make It In America), or some Bollywood star.

If you could go on tour with any musician or band, who would it be?

Prince, Nas or Outkast. Or Kanye West.

Why should everyone come and see your band?

At the end of the day, we’re home-grown hip hop who try and do the music that we love justice. We put everything into our live show, and make it as hype as possible, and we love the crowds, and make sure you know it!
