Define your genre in five words or less:

Deep, soulful, electroacoustic trip hop.

So, someone is walking past as you guys are playing, they then go get a beer and tell their friend about you… what do they say?

That singer sounds totes awesome and them beats were legit but wtf is that weird stick instrument that guy is playing?

How long have you been gigging and writing?

We started jamming and writing last winter and have been gigging since the start of the year. Urshula and Nick used to have a band together in Hobart called Little Bear and Garth mixed a couple of their releases so we had some time working together before this.

What has been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

That would be Jackeys Marsh Forest Festival. It’s out in the bush in the north of Tassie. It lies in a little valley on the edge of the Great Western Tiers surrounded by mountains on all sides with a deep natural amphitheatre and crazy decorative stage.  A serene and beautiful place to perform, we played as the sun was going down.

Which band would you most like to have a battle/showdown with?

I think we’d give Avril Lavigne a collective sonic beatdown

What inspires or has influenced your music the most?

We take influence from a range of old and new music like Bessie Smith, Bonobo and Amon Tobin but filter it through whatever environment we’re in at the time whether we’re huddled by the fire on the dark side of Mt Wellington, stuck in a hotel in the middle of a tornado or on the boat.

What do you think a band has to do these days to succeed?

Love making tunes, being in the studio and playing shows, success isn’t being #1 on Beatport or an ARIA In the words of Capleton “music is a mission not a competition”.

Do you have any record releases to date? Where can I get it?

Our debut EP, The Dangerfields, just came out and you can grab a CD or MP3s at our Bandcamp, or any of the regular digital outlets.

Why should everyone come and see your band?

Strings, bass and haunting vocals are well therapeutic.

When are you playing live/releasing your album/EP/single/etc?

We’re playing to launch our EP at Horse Bazaar on Saturday May 3 and we’ve got Amin Payne doing a special live set alongside DJ sets from Baddums and ShiKung.
