Darren Hanlon will take a nostalgic journey back and revisit his debut album Hello Stranger on 26 July at the Brunswick Ballroom, 22 years after it was launched in Melbourne.
Hello Stranger was the album that thrust Hanlon into the consciousness of the Australian scene, with Punks Not Dead being thrashed by the national broadcaster and gaining him a 45 spot on the Hottest 100.

Capable of rollicking, Dylan-esque dream narratives grounded in reality, tracks like The Chattanooga Shoot Shoot are pearlers – folk-rocky jams that barrel along with disarming ease.
Hanlon will reunite with the Hello Stranger 2002 touring band (Bree van Reyk, Simon Wooldridge) for this special one-off show. They will perform the album in full as well as some of his other well-known songs. This will also serve as the launch to the first vinyl pressing of the album.
The event is 18+ only. Doors open at 6:30pm, with the kitchen open and the show starting at 8:00pm.
