Last Sunday, The City of Melbourne announced that $847,000 would be invested into the 2013 Arts Grants program that helps support projects within script and film development, visual arts, sculpture, installation, contemporary music and theatre. It is a program used to encourage, and nurture, the artistic side of Melbourne.

This year 66 applications were recommended for funding by The City of Melbourne. Some of the 2013 grants awarded included Warwick Thornton’s Mother Courage, a film and installation project developed in central Australia with Papunya Tula Artists; Brooke Andrews’ visual arts installation Invisible Skulls and Lloyd Goodman’s first super sustainable rotating air garden.
