Fractangular Gathering

What does Fractangular mean to you?

Nicky Bomba: Our inclusion on the bill opens up the scope to experience a massive live show where 30-odd musicians (and I do mean odd) go on a rollercoaster journey with a real mission to connect with the audience. The type of ska we play is universal and multicultural in its essence as there are members from 12 different countries in the band.

What are some of the things that you and the Orchestra are most excited for? As with many festivals , the setting provides an opportunity to be immersed in an immediate pop up village of sorts where you can morph from one ambience to another. We love checking out other bands and characters, sampling the food and just hanging in a different scene.

What kind of energy do you anticipate an event like Fractangular will comprise of? That sense of being nestled in the bush environment where there’s a lot of passion for nature and environmental consciousness really appeals to us. The zero waste vibe is a winner.

Do you find that having such an eclectic mix of experience and influence creates interesting and dynamic music? We are what we think, eat, live, experience and the orchestra are firm believers in the big adventure and soaking in all the goodness, lessons, observations, etc. Our songs are essentially about sharing those experiences, translating them into poetry and music and celebrating the joy in life.
